Symantec LiveUpdate

Posted by: Nick Brayman on 1/16/2012

Every now and then I run into issues trying to update Symantec products such as Backup Exec, due to LiveUpdate not working correctly.  Often times, it is due to error LU1805 which says that LiveUpdate cannot find any installed products.  Backup Exec by default is registered with LiveUpdate but sometimes this becomes corrupt so you need to reregister it.  You can do this by finding the BeUpdateOps.exe file usually located at C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate.  Run this file and it should register any installed Symantec products with LiveUpdate.  Once done, test by running LiveUpdate from Backup Exec and it should display updated info
